With the serious rise in terrorism, the need for intelligence agencies are on a high. They are the wtachdogs of a nation . They are given the duties to safeguard the people. The need for intelligence came into shape from the date in which groups of people confronted each other. It became a neccessity to know the enemy moves. The one which was able to react fast were the real winners.Thus the focus shifted to intelligence gathering. Intelligence gathering allowed nation to avoid large human loss, reduce costs. Thus finally it resulted in formation of intelligence agencies or departments. These played a cruical role in the social life also since crimes were also cracked by the application of intelligence.
Intelligence gathering has a much more importance in wars. Because they are the decision makers to win a war.They also make disasterous results since the single error can make a huge change in plans. Thus the capability of a country to resist to intelligence determines the resistance within the country. A nation which has less will power to counter interference of another nation into its day to day activities are having a great chance to fail. The formation of intelligence agencies are to support a nation during its needs, to gather intelligence that are against social harmony, country.They are vital forces in wartime. They act as a buffer between the goverment and the military. Their desicions can change the whole plan. They are catalyst during the war.
Without intelligence agencies , a nation is like a crime zone. It will look like crime city, where the culprits can ran away after committing serious crimes.
